Welcome to Week 3 of my pumpkin spice series. This week I have chosen Pumpkin Oatmeal Energy Bites, Pumpkin Pull Apart Loaf, and Creamy Pumpkin Soup. For the breakfast dish, I made some pumpkin oatmeal energy bites. I’m a big fan of the chocolate chip “cookie dough” energy bites that I have made many times, so I figured this would be a nice fall twist. I also made a pumpkin pull apart loaf for a midday pick me up. For the dinner dish, I chose a creamy pumpkin soup. I’ve been on a soup kick for the past couple of days, and the pictures of this one on Pinterest were delightful!
Have you figured out your Halloween costume yet? Do you need some easy last minute ideas? If so, you’ve come to the right place! If not, you get to enjoy me looking silly in lots of different costumes and get ideas for the future! I made most of these with clothes that I already owned or something that could be easily picked up at Goodwill or another resale store. I’ve compiled a list of 17 costume ideas that are super easy and will not break the bank! And guess what?! It’s just in time for Halloweekend!
One of my favorite things is decorating for the holidays. Halloween and Christmas are by far the best, but I sometimes struggle to find what I want for halloween decor. I’m big on themes, but I’m not sure if I can define my Halloween decorating style’s theme. The most popular Halloween themes would be cutesy, hokey, or even gory. For lack of a better term, the look that I love is hauntingly beautiful, eerie yet elegant.
I’ve rounded up my favorite ideas as well as ideas, some that I would like to try and some that I have and love. I’ll start with a tour of my current Halloween decor!
Without further ado… Continue reading “Decorations You Need and My Halloween Home Tour”
Welcome to Week 2 of my pumpkin spice series. This week I have chosen Pumpkin Pie Coffee Cake, Pumpkin Pie Truffles, and Pumpkin Alfredo. For the breakfast dish, I made some pumpkin pie coffee cake. I love a good coffee cake in the morning. I also made pumpkin pie truffles for a tasty fall treats. For the dinner dish, I chose a pumpkin alfredo. Alfredo is one of my favorite pasta dishes, so I’m hoping that this lives up to its name!
Let’s talk about healthy living for a little bit. This is something on which I am reasonably educated yet I still struggle with it. I know that I need to exercise and probably cut back on the sweets and salts. However, I’m not someone who will try a fad diet or grueling work out program. I want to share with you some ways that make healthy living fun for me.
In terms of exercise, I do hot yoga, go on walks, and ride my bike. I love walks and bike rides because they’re relaxing and I get to enjoy the beautiful fall weather. But the weather is not always as nice as it was today, and that’s one of the reasons I love yoga. I like being able to go to the studio where it’s warm and cozy and relax while working out. I never thought I would like hot yoga. I typically don’t do well in hot conditions and have a tendency to get overheated in the summertime. However, the warmth and humidity allow you to relax into otherwise painful poses and gain a lot more flexibility.
Making seasonal bucket lists is one of my favorite things. However, the lifelong debate is what to put on the list. After reading through multiple ideas and thinking about classic favorites, I’ve narrowed it down to the top 12 things to do this fall.
In choosing the top ideas, it always comes down to things I love with people I love. Continue reading “Fall Bucket List”
I have decided to embrace all things pumpkin this year and what better way than to try three new pumpkin recipes each week (a breakfast, a snack or dessert, and a dinner) and let you all know how they turn out!
To start this series off, I have chosen Pumpkin Pie Smoothies, Pumpkin Spice Cookies, and Pumpkin Risotto with Goat Cheese. I have been on such a smoothie breakfast kick lately so what better way to transition into fall. Also, I am so thankful that the leaves are finally changing and it finally feels like fall here in West Michigan! What better way to enjoy the weather than with a cup of tea and a yummy pumpkin spice cookie. For the dinner dish, I chose a pumpkin risotto. I haven’t made risotto in a while but I love the taste of it so I’m curious how it will be with this autumn spin. Continue reading “5 Weeks of Pumpkin Spice: Week 1”
