There’s something special about fall that just makes me want to DIY everything in order to make the house as cozy as possible for the cool nights and upcoming winter.
I’m going to keep this post short, but I wanted to tell you about my latest project. A little over a month before Halloween, I started crocheting a fall throw blanket. I was making great progress with it until I decided to start this blog and take an online class. I dropped the ball the blanket, but both the blog and the class are totally worth it! Progress is happening on the blanket, just slower than before.
Have you ever crocheted anything or perhaps knitted? I have yet to learn to knit, but I absolutely love crocheting. My friends sometimes laugh yet they love the finished products and beg me to make them things. There is such a sense of accomplishment that comes with tying the final knot in the yarn to finish a project; I love that feeling. I also love that once you get good at crocheting, it’s a fairly mindless task. I can crochet while watching a movie, talking with friends, or curled up by the fireplace. It definitely helps to destress and unwind and the end product is usually pretty awesome.
I think throw blankets are my favorite thing to crochet. I like to do a color blocked pattern usually with 3 different colors. I’ve made a red themed one for my room and a blue themed one for my friend. I’ve done baby blankets, scarves, hats, and even a chevron blanket, but I think this might be one of my favorites yet! Hopefully I can finish before it turns to winter so I can crochet a Christmas blanket too!
