DIY Valentine’s Cards

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to make your own cards for all the special people in your life!  I think it makes it so much more personal when the cards are homemade with a sweet sentiment written inside.  I still treasure the homemade one’s that I’ve received.

When making your Valentine’s cards, start by brainstorming the aesthetic that you would like it to have.  Do you want it to be punny, elegant, silly, or some combination of things?  For me, I wanted mine to be pretty, but also punny.  My friend who worked on this project with me made hers more simple and elegant.

With some ideas in mind, we walked the aisles of Hobby Lobby looking for things that would fit our themes.  We found plain card and envelope sets to use as a base for our notes.  I found some cute papers and letter stickers to use for my cards.  I also got some pink paints and a cheap puzzle to make some punny cards.  I used a hot glue gun to stick the pieces to the card.

To finish my homemade Valentine’s Day notes, I wrote a personalized letter on the insides and then used wax seals on the envelopes.  I’ve always wanted to try them and Hobby Lobby had a cute love themed set.

I love how my Valentine’s cards turned out and can’t wait to give them to all my friends!

Do you make your own Valentine’s cards?  I’d love to see yours! Happy Valentine’s Day lovelies!! xoxox
