Welcome to week two of my 2018 Healthy Living Friday series! This week I want to talk a little bit about getting active.
I’m not someone who obsessively counts calories or goes to the gym every morning. I’ve never been that person. I admire the dedication and discipline of people that do, but I don’t think that that’s the only way to live a healthy and active lifestyle.
I think the most important part is to find something fun that you love doing that will get you up and moving around. It can be different from person to person too. No two people are alike and that’s what makes each fitness journey so awesome!
As the weather starts to get warmer, (hopefully soon haha) I want to start riding my bike around town again. My goal for the summer is to be able to ride my bike to the botanic gardens with my mom. I would also like to go on more walks and hikes. You could go running too if that’s your thing, but it’s never been mine and I’m okay with that.
It’s difficult because a lot of what I love doing is conditional on the weather. I don’t want this to limit me, so I’ve tried to expand my winter outdoor fitness activities. This winter I’ve loved skiing. Talk about a leg work out!
I would also love to get back into ice skating! I used to take lessons and skate all the time and I really want to start it up on my own again.
